About Sean

For more than 23 years, Sean Noonan has dedicated his life to protecting the residents of DuPage County. From his earliest days on patrol to command-level leadership, Sean has built a career defined by integrity, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.

Sean holds a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration and has completed advanced training in crisis intervention, community policing, and organizational leadership. His eight years as an elected DuPage County Board member gave him hands-on experience with budgeting, staffing, and the policy decisions that shape how law enforcement serves our neighborhoods.

A lifelong DuPage County resident, Sean and his family are deeply rooted in the community he has spent his career protecting. He coaches youth sports, volunteers with local organizations, and believes that a strong Sheriff’s office starts with strong relationships.

Sean has worked nearly every level of law enforcement. He understands the realities deputies face because he has done the work himself.

Law Enforcement

23+ Years on the Job

From patrol officer to field training officer to supervisor, Sean has worked nearly every level of law enforcement. He spent most of his career with the Bloomingdale Police Department, rising through the ranks to sergeant, and currently serves as an officer in Oakbrook Terrace.

County Government

8 Years on the DuPage County Board

As an elected County Board member, Sean approved the Sheriff's budget annually, served on the judicial and public safety committee, and reviewed staffing levels, capital requests, and department performance. He understands both operational command and county governance.

Education

Master's Degree in Public Safety Administration

Sean holds a Master's Degree in Public Safety Administration, bringing advanced training and professional expertise to his leadership. He has also completed specialized training in crisis intervention, community policing, and organizational leadership.
